Visiting it on your own will allow you to discover the Ortillopitz Basque house at your own pace as you follow the “signposts” along our course.

When ? From Sunday to Friday, from 11:00 am (opening) to 17:00 pm (last entry).
How much does it cost ? Flat rate of 6 euros per person, free for children under 4.

Simple admission + Treasure hunt (children animation)

Hunt for Ortillopitz’ treasure !

Visiting it on your own, with your children, will allow you to discover the Ortillopitz Basque house at your own pace as you follow the “signposts” along our course.
Visual clues in each room of the house will allow them to uncover the secret word that will open the treasure chest.
A fun way of getting the youngest ones interested in the Basque culture and tradition.

How much does it cost ? Flat rate of 6 euros per person, free for children under 4.

Guided tour

Discover the Ortillopitz Basque house with the help of an enthusiastic guide !

When ? From Sunday to Friday, only one guided tour per day, departing at 10h00 am.
How long is the tour ? The visit takes about an hour.
How much does it cost ? Flat rate of 10 euros per person.
Language : french.

From April 8th to July 5th

Guided tour at 10:00am (pre-booking required) : monday, tuesday, wednesday.
Admissions open from 11am to 4:30pm : from sunday to friday.

Closed on saturdays

From July 7th to August 30th

Guided tour at 9:30am (pre-booking required) : monday, tuesday, wednesday.
Admissions open from 10:30am to 5:00pm : from sunday to friday.

Closed on saturdays

From 1th to September 29th

Guided tour at 10:00am (pre-booking required) : monday, tuesday, wednesday.
Admissions open from 11am to 4:30pm : from sunday to friday.

Ortillopitz is located in Sare, in the heart of the Labourd province, in the Northern Basque Country.

How to get to Ortillopitz

BY PLANE : The nearest airport is in Biarritz.

BY TRAIN : The nearest train station is in St Jean de Luz.

BY BUS : From St Jean de Luz, departure from the bus stop “Txik Txak” (line 45).

BY CAR : From the A 63 motorway, take the St Jean de Luz north exit, then the D918 towards Ascain. In Ascain, follow the D4 towards the TRAIN DE LA RHUNE, SARE. At the station of the “Petit train de la Rhune”, take the road opposite. ORTILLOPITZ is located 1 Km away from that station.
